Life at the end of the tunnel

Have you ever just struggled because you are dealing with full time work and school? Not enough time to get anything done? 24 hours in a day, work taking up 8 of those hours, school being from 6 to 8 hours, oh, and let's not forget that it's healthy to get between 6 and 9 hours of sleep to feel refreshed.

So how are we supposed to get anything done if we do not have any hours of the day left?

No worries!

Even if you are bad at time management like me with lots of anxiety and panic ensuing. It can be done.

How does one do it, you ask? - cry, get Starbucks, retail shop “responsibly”, and then open your notes. Sometimes a social life disappears, but it is only temporary. I promise.

Balance

I for one, do not like wasting the already limited time that I have. My study material would always be in my bags so I could study wherever I went. I did not have an iPad, but it would have been very useful in condensing the material I would bring around.

What I learned

All my notes were printouts and handwritten in various binders. I chose the “old school” method which made things a tad bit heavy.

You can do it!

Do not forget to rest up and destress.

Always take a break with something you know relaxes you so the stress does not build up. Read a book. Play a video game. Take a walk. Whatever makes the serotonin going for you. "Run away for a weekend" is my best advice as it can be a huge relaxer to just get away. Sometimes you just need to step away and breathe some fresh air elsewhere.

Self-care is a must. You deserve to be cared for after everything you are going through so make sure you pay attention to those needs. Your body will tell you.

In the end, near the finish line.

Full time school and work is doable. Sometimes you want to quit, but never do. Class in the mornings, work in the evenings, and managing to get some studies done during downtimes and after getting home is good enough. Sleep might get lessened to 5-7 hours, but thats something caffeine can fix with an added extra shot of espresso.

Reminder to focus on goal!

So, never give up! You can pull through the hardship. Take it one semester at a time and before you know it, it'll all be over. And even if you fail, you can always try again. Do not think one fail is the end. If you are determined, and it is truly something you wish to do, keep going. I believe in you! And I am proud of how far you have come in life.
